Yesterday we took headshots for a client who has brought her son for holiday session for years. She just started a new job and needed to have an updated headshot. We are often asked what a typical headshot session produces. How many shots? How many backdrops? Well, here is what her un-edited proof gallery looks like. Our most popular headshot packages includes two digital images. These are straight off the camera. From the proofs below she will choose her 2 favorites for us to edit.
Headshots are done in our Upper West Side studio. When you arrive, your photographer will review of what type of headshots you are looking for and if there are any restrictions or requirements. We then head into the studio for about 20-30 minutes of photos. We will shoot on several different colored backgrounds (usually 3 different backgrounds) and do several different poses. We allow for one outfit change. After we are done in the studio, we take about 10-20 minutes to edit down your photos. You will then sit with an experienced team member to help make your selection.
You should plan to be in the studio for about an hour. It will then take 2-3 days for you to receive your finalized images. Our goal during every session is to make you feel comfortable and create an engaging headshot that shows your personality.
