It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s New York Comic Con!
As an avid comic book fan and collector, my favorite time of year is right around early October when the weather finally takes a turn for the better (IMO) and when I get to spend 5 days at the greatest place in the world … Disney World excluded. Each year, my NYCC experience has grown.
The first year I attended, I had only one day because my friend who had a pass couldn’t go the first day. Since then, I’ve gone to all 4 days, and at this point I get an exhibitor badge because I ‘roadie’ for a good friend who has her own booth. The comics, the artists, the costumes, the craziness is worth every single moment. I highly suggest trying to make it to NYCC at least one day in your life.
Introducing Superhero Sessions
Having NYCC during October is genius—it’s the perfect time for everyone to embrace their inner superhero and the reason we’re holding our first Superhero Sessions at Big Apple Portraits Studio from October 1st thru the 15th.
If you’re an adult and you’re a huge fan of Batman, Professor Xavier, Jubilee, or whichever comic superhero or super villain you like, here’s your chance to capture all that glory on camera. The event of New York Comic Con and Halloween attests to how we’re all kids at heart.
As for the kids … let’s face it, not much goes together better than kids and superheroes. Taking photos of kids in costume, dressed up as their favorite Superhero/Superheroine (or villain/villainess), is an absolute blast. Not only do they have fun, but I have fun trying to come up with poses and scenarios that only see the day of light when you get to pretend to be something you’re not. And with Halloween right around the corner and Comic Con even closer to being here, what better time to let kids or adults be their heroes, even just for a moment?
